Adam Idah misses Norwich friendly but Celtic fans shouldn’t excited

Celtic transfer target Adam Idah missed this evening’s friendly against FC Magdeburg. The Championship side were beaten 1-0 by the Bundesliga.2 outfit as Idah was absent from the matchday squad.

Supporters had speculated that this might mean that there had been a breakthrough in the deal for the player. However, that excitement was quickly dampened by a Norwich-based journalist, Connor Southwell.

Speaking on Twitter/X, Southwell stated that the Irishman was missing through injury and was in attendance to watch his teammates.

Celtic are still in discussions with the Carrow Rd side but it appears that there is yet to be a follow up bid for the player. Norwich may be reluctant to let the player go until the future of Josh Sargent is determined with the USA Internationalist yet to return to training.

Celtic’s business has been somewhat stunted thus far with only Kasper Schmeichel and Sinisalo arriving to strengthen the goalkeeping department. Paulo Bernardo is expected to arrive from Benfica on a permanent basis but the club are keen to get a number of players in the building to strengthen ahead of the new season.
