Sky Sports’ Anthony Joseph has stated that Celtic have agreed a fee of £3.75m for Argentinian left-back Alexander Bernabei. The 21-year-old from Lanus appears to have said goodbye to his teammates ahead of a proposed move to Paradise. Now, Joseph has offered an update as to the fee that Celtic will pay for the left-back.

Taking to Twitter, the Celtic-supporting reporter has claimed that the fee has been agreed to bring the Lanus defender to Celtic Park.

Greg Taylor operated as Celtic’s first choice left back during the season; however, if a deal for Bernabei is completed, the Argentinian youngster will provide competition for Taylor in the Starting XI. As Celtic compete on all fronts next season, having two strong options at full-back are essential for success.

Earlier today, Celtic loaned Liam Scales to Aberdeen for a season. The 23-year-old’s move suggests that Celtic have another full-back lined up to stock up defensive options ahead of the new season. Postecoglou seems to be ramping up his preparation for the new season with Benjamin Siegrist joining Cameron Carter-Vickers as the second signing of the season.
