“A complete mystery” – These Celtic fans have an obvious solution for a long-standing problem after 1-0 win over Aberdeen

There are several infuriating things that professional footballers do on a weekly basis, but it often goes under the radar just how often a corner will fail to clear the first man.

You can forgive the occasional one if the player is trying to whip it into the near post, but there is now a long running joke about Ryan Christie’s corners.

It might not be that it happens every single time, but you always notice it and the time has come to look elsewhere in the squad for other potential takers.

The obvious candidate has to be David Turnbull – he’s technically brilliant and a very good striker of the ball, so you would fancy him to not only get it over the first man but it’s also going to be into a good area that’s tough to defend.

It’s a small part of the problem that Celtic face just now, but there are plenty of fans who are urging Neil Lennon to make the change and to put Turnbull on corners and free kicks:

  1. I don’t know why Christie gets a game at all. Apart from his goal last week, he offers virtually nothing. All he does is take the duties Turnbull should be doing.
    Lennon seems to favour him though. Playing him up front in front of three actual strikers. What’s that all about?
