The next month brings an exciting set of fixtures for Celtic fans.
First up we have the trip to Tynecastle, with a potential title party in the offing. If there is a negative result, the champagne could be kept on ice as the title clincher rolls over until such time that the league is won.
Even if we are crowned champions in the capital, the following week brings us the small matter of a Glasgow Derby, where no doubt “Beale’s bears” will be telling us that we will see the real Rangers and talking plenty about their confidence of victory.
Thereafter, the Champions will be welcomed to Paradise for a heroes reception no doubt. The team will have the chance to break the goalscoring record set by Willie Maley’s 1915/16 Celtic side. Ange’s current crop need 14 goals in the remaining five league games to achieve that accolade.
And if title parties, Glasgow derbies and pursuing goalscoring records isn’t enough to excite you, then the league campaign will conclude with trophy day and no doubt the ensuing street party afterwards on the final day of the SPFL calendar.
Then, as June arrives we head to Hampden for the chance to lift a world record eighth treble. It’ll also be the first treble that Ange Postecoglou lifts in just two years at the club. Who knows what that post match party could be like, should Celtic win as they are expected to. Perhaps there may even be a bus parade?
All in all, there’s rarely been a more exciting set of domestic fixtures to look forward to in any given month.
Let’s enjoy these incredible times.
