Abada set to sign new deal at Celtic

Liel Abada looks set to sign a new deal at Celtic before the end of this week, according to reliable journalist.

The Israeli international has attracted interested from across Europe’s top leagues and clubs, however is ready to commit to Celtic. Scott Burns at Daily Record has today’s story and he reported exactly two weeks ago that Celtic were preparing to offer new deals to both Reo Hatate and Liel Abada before the closure of the window.

Hatate reportedly asked Celtic to wait until the window closes before resuming talks, but his teammate Abada seems keener on a new contract.

The 21-year-old has been subject to transfer speculation for large parts of his stay in the East End of Glasgow, being linked to clubs such as Sporting Lisbon and Ajax.

Abada scored ten goals and registered five assists across 29 league games last season, a season in which the Israeli was not a starter every week.

The right winger had started this season brightly, scoring one goal and registering one assist in Celtic’s first four games. His form, like everyone else’s has dipped over the past few games but the new deal is certain to give him a boost and hopefully we’ll see that coming through on the park, starting on Sunday. Abada after all likes a goal or two against theRangers!

Tying down the Israeli would be a significant coup by Celtic, with the player a key asset on and off the pitch. Now it’s Reo turn and maybe Matt O’Riley is next after the Japan international midfielder. We certainly hope so.
