Adam Idah has been named on the bench for Norwich City’s final pre season clash against FC St Pauli. Johannes Hoff Thorup has named Josh Sargent as his starting striker with the Irishman on the bench.

The team news comes after a week of speculation about Idah’s future. The Celtic target was disciplined by the club for failing to catch the team flight to Austria for their pre-season camp. This meant that he was absent for their draw against Hoffenheim, with Thorup admitting that the Celtic interest likely played a factor.

Celtic kick off their Premiership campaign at home to Kilmarnock on Sunday with Kyogo expected to lead the line. There has been a suggestion during the week that a deal was forthcoming that could have seen Idah included for Flag Day.

Unfortunately, these reports were wide of the mark and there has been no breakthrough. There is also an issue in terms of what Norwich are looking for, supporters are not privy to that and unable to say whether their asking price represents good value or not.

Celtic want to bring the Irish International back to the club after he impressed in the second half of last season. Idah contributed with 9 goals and 1 assist to help Brendan’s side to the League and Scottish Cup. The player appears to be keen on a move but is waiting on the clubs coming to an agreement.
