Adam Idah will more than justify the transfer fee Celtic is paying

Adam Idah finally looks like he’s on his way to Celtic in a deal that could reach a massive £9.5 million, and we can all breath a huge sigh of relief at finally getting some serious business done in this transfer window.

That however hasn’t stopped a percentage of our supporters whining about how much the deal has set us back. Ironically the same supporters who moan that we don’t spend enough money! Make it make sense!

Listen we may well be be paying over the odds, and that’s all down to the club’s strategy when it comes to concluding transfer discussions, but at the end of the day we have signed a player that we know is proven in our league and will do the business for us. The fee shouldn’t come into it, just be glad we’ve actually parted with some serious cash for a change!

A few years back we spent £8 million combined on Albian Ajeti and Patryk Klimala and we all know how their Celtic careers panned out.

At least with Adam we know what we are getting. He’s young, he’s an international, and more importantly he’s a quality player who scores goals. He knows Celtic, supports Celtic and knows what it takes to succeed at Celtic. He understands the pressure and the demands that come with playing for Celtic. Brendan also clearly rates him, and this transfer has been sanctioned on his behalf, so that’s yet another plus to come from this piece of business.

Adam will prove to be value for money, there is no doubt about that. Just enjoy the fact that we are spending decent money on players for a pleasant change.

  1. Plus,if he’s successful over 3 years and wants to move, we’ll get at least £20m for a proven goalscorer

  2. You get what you pay for, Idah is a goalscorer, he has proved it already. We have money to burn so it is no issue. We also wasted money on project players last season most ot them nit up to it
