KRISTOFFER AJER was delighted with the way Celtic recovered from going a goal behind against Rosenborg last night at Celtic Park.

Birger Meling got on the end of a cross from Rosenborg’s talisman Nicklas Bendtner cross to give the Norwegians an early advantage in the tie but Celtic French stars Odsonne Edouard and Olivier Ntcham responded empathetically with three goals and Celtic could have easily scored double that total.

Three times the Hoops were denied by the woodwork, once by the referee who failed to give Ntcham what looked like a stonewall penalty.

The big Norwegian can head back to his homeland next week confident that Celtic can cause Rosenborg further defensive headaches next Wednesday.

“Of course when you play in this competition it is all about getting a result and to score three goals at home is a good result to take away to Trondheim,” Ajer said.

“You can see that they can hurt you if we are not 100 per cent at it. We conceded early and then it is difficult to come back but we showed great character to score three fantastic goals.”
