Kristoffer Ajer has rubbished talks of him seeking a move away from Parkhead this summer. In an interview with FVN, the defender said: “I have two years left of the contract and do not focus on my future at all. What the media writes, I don’t focus on it.”

Ajer’s agent, Pedersen had recently suggested the Norwegian would be on the move amid links with Leicester City. Brendan Rodgers was allegedly keen to reunite with the young centre-half, but Ajer threw cold water on such talk.

His comments come three months after January speculation when Kristoffer played any transfer talk down. Back then, he told the Daily Record: “I’m really happy now, I’ve got two and a half years at Celtic and I’m happy with it. I love playing for Celtic. All talk of contracts is between my agent and the club and I’m just concentrated on day-to-day work and trying to be the best footballer I can.”

It appears his agent controls the transfer side of things, almost exclusively. Thus, the comments in the lead up to the Glasgow derby match, which was ultimately postponed, last month suggest that there may well be something in the speculation. Nevertheless, the commitment to Celtic from the player is not likely to waver.
