An absolutely unacceptable performance today, a win at Ibrox is now a must

We were all expecting a reaction from the defeat at Rugby park last week, but sadly we were all disappointed. To draw with the side who started the day slumped at the bottom of the table is totally unacceptable. A side who were recently thumped 4-0 by Stirling Albion!

Yes we had the majority of the possession and chances, but that means nothing if you can’t put the ball in the back of the net. The forward line was powderpuff and Kyogo was out of sorts today, like most of the side he was well below his best.

The only players to receive pass marks in my opinion and I’m sure the majority will agree, was Joe Hart and Yang. Joe had nothing to do, but when called into action he earned his corn. He pulled off two great stops, the first of which was an excellent stop. He receives regular criticism so it’s only fair he gets a Pat on the back today.

Yang looked dangerous throughout the game. He was the only player who looked like creating anything, which made it all the more bizarre that Brendan took him off. It was a really strange decision to say the least.

The whole shape of the team looked disjointed and there was no fluency or urgency amongst the players. It’s night and day from what we were used to under Ange. Ange is gone of course and Brendan is now the man in charge. With a trip to Ibrox next up he better get to work on the training ground and fast.

Plenty in the stadium at the final whistle – and not just in the North Curve – were turning on the manager and frankly he can have no excuses after another game where we were well off the standard the support demands and yet again we failed to score -we are not talking about Barcelona and Bayern Munich in the Champions League it’s Kilmarnock and St Johnstone and no goals scored.

A win at Ibrox against a leg weary theRangers is now a must, over to you Brendan.

  1. Injuries or plastic pitch cant be used as an excuse today it was st johnstone at home and we get a powder puff performance. It looked like an end of season nothing to play for game.
We had all week to get in at least one player to give everyone a much needed lift and we did nothing.

  2. His football has not changed since the stale tactics he left us with last time. Slow and predictable in the build up with no direct threat. Countless said in the summer it was wrong to bring him back and it appears that 4 games in, they were correct.

Wrong tactics ,wrong team selection, wait a minute I said that last week against Kilmarnock.

The team failure to score today cost me £1500 on my coupon. All I needed was 2 goals from that game at Celtic Park to collect and they failed, I couldn’t believe it. That really hurts and it’s all down to Rodgers just not being the man for the job. He inherited a great team, pacey and deadly in front of goal, yet now they look disjointed and, frankly, unhappy. Lawwell is behind the failure to buy players of quality, we all know that, but Rodgers has already proven that he can’t even beat lowly St. Johnston at Parkhead with a team still packed with talent. I’ll never get over losing that bet today. £1500 might be pin money for people like Rodgers, but it’s a fortune to me. Very depressing!

  5. I do not think we will actually buy anyone this week particularly if The Rangers lose in Holland.

After two years seeing what a progressive organisation looks like we are back to this utter lack of imagination, poor tactics, and glacial transfer activity.

Our support deserve this because we have charlatans in the boardroom who would rather sit with £40M in the bank than meaningfully progress the team.

That’s because they know the fans will always buy season tickets again next year regardless. Hit them in the pocket and you’ll see a different Board!

  6. A draw at Ibrox and the season really begins.
    O’Reilly missed two sitters.
McGregor not playing well but that will change.
    Settle down.
    Hail Hail.
