Former Celtic goalkeeper Ross Doohan has completed a move to Tranmere after enjoying a successful loan spell with the club last year. Doohan, 24, who was tipped as a Celtic No.1-in-the-making, departs after seven years on the books with the club.
The player told the Tranmere official website that he was delighted to get the deal over the line as he signs a two-year deal for the Wirral club.
“I’m really pleased to get it all sorted now. I really enjoyed it here last season so I feel this is a great step in my career.”

“I know how the Club works and the stature of it with the training facilities, the stadium and the fan base. Having a great relationship with the Gaffer and with Joe Murphy was another big factor for me.
“I didn’t take much convincing at all, as soon as I heard that there was interest I wanted to come back. I can’t wait to get going again.”
The Scotland Youth Internationalist has spent spells at Cumbernauld Colts, Morton, Ayr, Ross County and Tramnere whilst never making a full appearance for Celtic. Doohan was signed by former Dundee United manager Micky Mellon, who stated that he was glad that the young goalie was making his move permanent.
We’re delighted to bring Ross in permanently. He’s a fantastic young goalkeeper and someone who we know very well.
“We know what qualities he can bring to the group and we believe that he can keep improving and developing here with us. We’re really looking forward to working with him again.”
A number of youngsters have departed the club this summer after failing to make the grade at the club. It is a shame that they have not been able to live up to the initial hype. No one more than Karamoko Dembele, who joined Stade Brest earlier this week. The youngster had come through the ranks at Lennoxtown after making his debut at age 13 for the U20 squad with a first team debut coming 3 years later.
