Anthony Ralston looks set to return to action on Thursday for Celtic in the Europa League clash against Real Betis. The right-back has impressed this season under Ange Postecoglou but missed the win over Ross County with a ‘medical issue’. However, The Daily Record are reporting that the player will return to action in time for the trip to Spain.

It was expected that the player would return after Ange confirmed on Saturday that he was close to making a comeback. This news will allay Postecoglou’s fears that Greg Taylor will be unavailable after he was forced off in the second half due to a recurring shoulder injury. Josip Juranovic started at right-back but with Taylor seemingly out and Ralston returning, Postecoglou may move the Croatian right-back across to left-back.

Celtic will be without Kyogo Furuhashi, Christopher Jullien, Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele for the game; although, James Forrest may yet make a return to action after missing the weekend’s clash over Ross County. The bench at the weekend was quite light and the manager will know that as soon as he has players back available, the team will begin to take shape in his image after weeks of disruption due to transfers and injuries.
