Arsenal set bargain transfer fee for Celtic favourite Kieran Tierney

Arsenal have reportedly set a £10m fee for Kieran Tierney. The Scotland Internationalist spent last season at Real Sociedad but was linked with a sensational return to Celtic. However, Arsenal’s demands for both a loan deal and a permanent switch meant that a reunion with Brendan Rodgers was not forthcoming.

After coming through the ranks at Celtic, Tierney went on to make 170 appearances for his boyhood club – scoring eight goals and assisting on thirty-seven occasions. In that time, he was part of excellent success before moving on.

Now, The Sunday Post (via Metro) is reporting that Arsenal are willing to accept just £10m for the left-back.

Celtic could be the perfect outlet for the player, who has had injury struggles in the past, as he is able to rotate with Scotland teammate Greg Taylor. The lure of a fairytale return to Celtic Park would certainly be appealing to Tierney, as well as the boost to the club by adding pace and power.

Tierney and Rodgers have an excellent relationship and this could be a factor in attracting the player back to the club. It would be interesting to see whether anything transpires as Celtic would certainly set their stall out by signing a player of Tierney’s calibre, delivering on the promise to Rodgers to bring quality into the club to compete in Europe.

Tierney made a £25m move to London in the summer of 2019, where he has made 124 appearances. In that time, KT has scored five goals and assisted on fourteen occasions. However, the change in management from Unai Emery to Mikel Arteta saw a tactical switch with Zinchenko and Timber, as well as right-back Tomiyasu, being preferred to the Scottish defender.
