Arsenal are willing to sanction a loan deal for Kieran Tierney but with one major condition. The Scottish Champions have been linked with a move for one of the club’s star Academy products but the North London side are said to be wanting £25m for the 26-year-old.
According to Football Scotland, Sporting Director Edu will allow the player to temporarily leave the club if an obligation to buy clause is inserted. This could put Celtic off moving into the frame for the player but if the left-back remains at Arsenal at the end of the window then Celtic could swoop.
Real Sociedad are said to be interested in getting KT to make a move to the Basque side. Although, you’d imagine if Celtic were interested in a loan move then the player would decide upon a fairytale return to the Scottish Champions.
Tierney would tick a number of boxes offering another defensive option for Brendan Rodgers, who is in need of quality to his side ahead of the Champions League Group Stages. The full-back is Scottish and club trained so would be able to be used without interference with the current squad with UEFA regulations.
Tierney moved to Arsenal for £25m move in 2019, a Scottish and club record. The defender made over 250 appearances for Celtic during a period of domestic success. The move to Arsenal has been particularly mixed due to injuries overshadowing fine performances. Accordingly, with Mikel Arteta making it clear that Tierney doesn’t have a future then the player might enjoy a reunion with Rodgers.
