There’s no doubt that Shane Duffy has been signed to bring some steel and aggression to the Celtic defence next season, but he might be a secret weapon in the attacking game too.
One of his best qualities is his desire and aggression to the attack the ball in either box, so that could translate into a few goals.

It’s something that could be huge for Celtic in tight games where the ball just won’t go into the net. Opposing teams do get tired as the game goes on so the tendency is there to switch off at set pieces, so having someone to attack the ball with conviction can mean the difference between one point or three – or 10IAR or 9IAR.
There’s been plenty of reaction on Twitter to Duffy’s signing, but a few are pointing out that his attacking prowess could be interesting to see this season:
With @shaneduffy and @Chri6ViF in the team we can just focus on winning corners now

With @shaneduffy and big @Chri6ViF playing together there ain't no high free kick or corner going to be safe ever again. I'm half expecting every such opportunity to result in a goal for @CelticFC now.

Will be absolutely criminal if we don’t put decent corners in the box for jullien and duffy there’s at least 10 goals a season if the delivery is right 👏👏🍀🍀

Absolutely Buzzing here. Now we might start converting a few corners and free kicks. We are back on track. Just need a good attacking LB, keep Eddie and #10iar is back on track Hail Hail Shane Duffy 🇮🇪🍀☘️🇮🇪 https://t.co/LXbkpsRYIj

With @shaneduffy and @Chri6ViF in the Celtic side together now I expect a goal from every corner and in swinging free kick this season

Can’t wait for @shaneduffy to be in the box and for Ryan Christie to swing in an over hit corner or one that doesn’t beat the first man. Different corner taker and him and @Chri6ViF will hit double figures

He’s never managed more than 5 goals in a season so he’s not going to lead the goalscoring charts, but if he can make the difference in a couple of games then it could be vital.
