Atalanta have made an enquiry about Cameron Carter-Vickers, a top US source has revealed. The central defender started in Celtic’s 3-1 win over Hibs and is comfortably Celtic’s best central defender.
Larry Henry Jr, who covered Celtic’s Tour of the USA for The Celtic Star, revealed on Twitter/X that an approach was made but no further action followed.
Serie A side Atalanta have inquired about #USMNT and #CelticFC defender Cameron Carter-Vickers, but nothing more than that, source close to the player confirmed.

Atalanta have been sniffing around Celtic this summer, mainly relating to Matt O’Riley but their efforts to sign the Dane have been rebuffed by the club. However, it’s unsurprising that they were impressed by the USA Internationalist.
CCV has been a rock since joining from Tottenham Hotspur, initially on a season-long loan deal. The defender then signed a permanent deal in 2022 before agreeing a new contract back in January, which will take him to the summer of 2029.
Celtic are looking for a partner for the 26-year-old and will not entertain selling the player, who is a key member of the first team picture.
About time a simple reply should be given to atalanta?
One they may be able to understand, and it goes as
“VAFFANCULO”
Can’t afford O Reilly then don’t even waste our time coming in for CCV
