CCV return is very welcome news for Celtic supporters. He must play tomorrow, with Liam Scales alongside him at the Gewiss Stadium in the beautiful Lombardy city of Bergamo…

Cameron Carter- Vickers was today pictured in training and it’s believed that he will make tomorrow’s squad to take on Atalanta in the Champions League, match-day three.  That is a most welcome boost as to be quite blunt, the thought of our defence facing this top quality Italian side minus our Big Strong Man has been keeping me awake at night. You too? Thought so…

CCV and Scales is Celtic’s best pairing

Even lacking in match sharpness, CCV is a much better option than our current centre back pairing. Liam Scales has improved greatly, but he looks much more comfortable with CCV beside him.

Auston Trusty hasn’t done much wrong, but he’s just adapting to life at the club and will take time to adjust, and playing him on the right side of defence won’t be helping him much either, as like Scales he’s left sided.  You have to ask why we only have one right sided central defender capable of starting at Champions League level? That one problem Brendan needs to discuss with his Doctor – Paul Tisdale and a remedy should be found in January.

For me, CCV and Liam Scales must start as our centre back pairing tomorrow evening. Both have a good understanding of each other, and together they form a tight unit, so it’s a no brainer. Scales is playing well and will look even better with Celtic’s main ma at the back alongside him.

Celtic will be under the cosh

We will be under the cosh for most of this game that’s not in doubt so we must select the most dependable players possible, especially at the back. Celtic must adapt to be become hard to beat in away ties in the Champions League, rather than shipping goals right, left and centre as has been the case too many times.

Hopefully we’ll see a major improvement tomorrow night against a side who are every bit as good – maybe even better – than Dortmund. That also keep me awake at night? You too…

Just an Ordinary Bhoy

UPDATE – Brendan Rodgers confirmed that CCV did NOT travel to Italy today.  That is a huge blow ahead of the game against a top quality side like Atalanta.
