You have to admit that the atmosphere at Celtic Park is flat without the Green Brigade…

Yesterday’s performance on the park was the best of the season, but off it, it  was anything but. Whether you like them or not you have to admit without the entire North Curve in attendance, Paradise loses that little bit of atmosphere.

It was eerily silent for large parts of the game, in a match we were playing our best stuff of the season. It was a cold day, but the football on show sure warmed us up. That’s why I was surprised at the lack of atmosphere inside the ground.

A good few supporters tried to get things going but sadly to no avail. A few half-hearted chants were all that could be heard before sadly disappearing.

Celtic Park needs the Green Brigade, to suggest otherwise is in my opinion, utter nonsense. Yes the subdued atmosphere didn’t affect the outcome of the game as the team played our best football of the season, but it adds more to the occasion when the place is in full voice and absolutely bouncing.

That’s why it’s imperative that both sides – the Celtic Board and the Green Brigade – bite the bullet and sit down with to air out their differences and reach an agreement on the way forward that everyone can buy into.

The sooner this is all sorted and the Green Brigade are back inside Paradise and also at away grounds the better for everyone connected with Celtic.
