CELTIC today completed the deal to sign young Australian attacking midfielder Leo Mazis.

The highly rated 17 year old has signed a three year deal following his impressive trial with Tommy McIntyre’s Development Squad towards the end of 2017.

The Canberra-born player  joins Celtic from Belconnen United, who play in Canberra’s National Premier League, and is now eligible to play for his new club after receiving his visa clearance.

“It was unbelievable when I got the call to say Celtic were offering me a contract. It’s always been my dream to play football at the highest level and Celtic are a massive club so I’m over the moon with this opportunity,” Mazis told the Celtic website.

The teenager  has now settled in Glasgow and is very much part of the Development Squad.

“Training has been unbelievable so far. I’ve loved every minute of it and I can’t wait to play some games.

“All the boys have been great with me so I’m settling in well and coaches have been fantastic, I couldn’t ask for anything more.

“My dream is to one day play for the first team but obviously right now I’m only concentrating on just getting settled and getting game time in the Development Squad. I need to find my feet a bit and take things a step at a time,” Leo said.

Welcome to Leo, hopefully a Celtic Star of the future!
