Being linked with players such as Balikwisha is more like it…

Celtic have today been linked with Belgian attacker Michel – Ange Balikwisha. The 23 year old currently plays for Royal Antwerp in the Jupiler pro-league.

Predominantly used on the left wing, the former Belgian youth international can play across the front three and his stats of 34 goals and 18 assists in 164 appearances make for impressive reading. According to Sacha Tavolieri a reliable Belgian Sports personality, Celtic have entered into discussions with the players entourage.

That’s the sort of name we should be going for, a young versatile player with years of top level playing experience in a decent environment. The fact that Celtic are looking into the possibility of a deal for a player who is still contracted until 2026 and will cost upwards of £6 million is very encouraging.

We need that sort of proven quality in our squad, and not just in the one position. We are still in need of a few more quality signings especially in defence.

Let’s hope more players of the same ilk as Balikwisha are on our radar for the challenges ahead.

  1. Same old, same old,how many times have we been linked with players like this and nothing ever materialises, either a load of paper talk nonsense or a failure of our incompetent board to spend on improving the squad.
