Celtic target Ben Davies is still considering his options, according to Sun journalist Alan Nixon. The English defender is out of contract at the end of the season and earned rave reviews in his outings with Preston North End and it appears that the defender is waiting for offers before he makes a decision on his future.
Celtic have been linked with Davies for some time but it appears unclear whether they have offered him any terms as they are able to do so. Sheffield United and Rangers have both been linked but a move to Glasgow’s East End may be an exciting possibility to win silverware and potentially play in Europe.
Celtic are, meanwhile, yet to conclude any transfer dealings this month as it moves towards its conclusion. James McCarthy and Ben Pearson have both been linked with moves; however, the team have missed out on players like Mark McKenzie, Filip Benkovic, Bright Osayi-Samuel as well as Alfie Doughty this window.
The club are still to sign any defender – even someone like Declan Gallagher, who fans may initially turn their noses up at but at this stage, the glaring gaps in the Celtic defence prove that there must be action taken.
Celtic haven’t taken any action as they plan on a big summer overhaul. Although, it appears that Celtic are losing valuable time as they continue to twiddle their thumbs instead of making decisions. The outcome of the January Review appears inevitable but the club are dragging their heels when they should be planning for next season but incomings and outgoings.
