Benjamin Siegrist has signed for Rapid Bucharest as the Swiss goalkeeper links up with ex-Celtic manager Neil Lennon. The 32-year-old joined Celtic as a free agent following the expiry of his deal at Dundee United. The goalkeeper deputised to Joe Hart for two years, working alongside Scott Bain and Stevie Woods.

Now, the player left Celtic to sign for the Romanian side as he links up with the renowned former Celtic manager and midfielder.

Siegrist helped keep Hart in the best possible shape to challenge for silverware, with Celtic winning five trophies in two years. The reaction from Siegrist at the Cup Final showed that he was a top professional and loved being at the club, even if his game time was limited.

Celtic have signed Kasper Schmeichel and Sinisalo to act as the first and second choice goalkeepers at the club with Bain acting as the third pick. Siegrist will look to head up the goalkeeping department with Lennon in Romania.
