Welcome news regarding CCV, but would be better resting him until after the break?

Cameron Carter-Vickers is in contention for Saturday’s game at Celtic Park against St Johnstone after missing our Scottish Cup win against Livingston due to recurring injury issues. It’s plain for all to see that we missed his presence massively so having him back is a great boost to the side.

However we should still show some caution regarding his fitness especially with a run of vital games pending after the international break. None more so than the trip to Ibrox on 7th April and the Big Strong Man is the first name you would want to see on that team sheet come kick off time.

Of course Saturday’s game against St Johnstone is also vital, but with all due respect to Craig Levein’s side, we should be beating them without too much difficulty.

I reckon it would be a wise decision to leave out CCV or even have him on the bench on Saturday. I know we are a much more secure unit with him in the side, but with more important games coming up it wouldn’t be the worst decision to have him rest for the next week or so.
