NEIL LENNON has confirmed that Celtic have accepted a satisfactory bid for Tom Rogic but that negotiations remain ongoing. The 27-year-old is yet to feature this season and the manager said that Rogic was currently sidelined by an ankle injury.

As reported by the Daily Record, Lennon confirmed that a bid had been received and accepted by the Scottish Champions and that the arrival of attacking midfielder David Turnbull wouldn’t mean Rogic’s time was necessarily up.

“Negotiations are ongoing with Tom. We have accepted a bid.

“He is not fit at the moment, he has a slight ankle problem, but whether he stays or goes… David Turnbull coming in doesn’t affect Tom’s role.”

Supporters will hope that either Rogic’s future is decided and if he is leaving then the money is reinvested but if he stays then he can get a run in the team. The Australian will always be immortal for that moment at Hampden in 2017 but left plenty lasting memories for supporters with late winners, majestic turns and also leaving a Rangers player in a heap when curling in a screamer.

With an injury record like Rogic, it appears that Celtic are willing to cash in for the midfielder but for Neil Lennon it would be difficult to replace a player of that quality. Hopefully there is a conclusion that results in a fully-fit Rogic helping Celtic to win 10IAR. That may be wishful thinking…
