BOLI BOLINGOLI is at the centre of a storm following the news that the Belgian had taken a trip to Spain before Celtic’s trip to Rugby Park.
The Scottish Sun broke the story that the Belgian left back spent time in Spain before returning to the UK, lying to Celtic about his whereabouts. Scotland insists in a two week quarantine from passengers returning from Spain due to a spike in infection rates in the country. This means that Bolingoli broke the law as well as the club’s strict protocols.
Despite being tested negative on return, the defender broke the club’s strict return to football protocols testily very resulting in an investigation by the club.
His career with the Scottish Champions could very well be over. This latest breach has threatened the Scottish game with the Scottish Government having already said that any more breaches in protocol could result in the league being suspended.
Neil Lennon will likely crack the whip and see the 25-year-old’s Celtic career end. This means that the club will need to enter the transfer market for a left back.
The Scottish Government have, according to the Scottish Sun, said that they will consider placing Scottish football back into cold storage after Bolingoli’s antics as well as the Aberdeen eight’s conduct last weekend.
