Stephen Welsh looks set to make his return to the Celtic team after recovering from an ankle injury suffered versus St Mirren. The 21-year-old had to be stretchered off but fortunately he only suffered bruising meaning he was able to make such a quick recovery.
Now, Sky Sports News’ Anthony Joseph has updated the support saying that the defender will return ahead of tomorrow’s game against Aberdeen.

Celtic have suffered from injuries to their defenders already this season with Christopher Jullien suffering multiple injuries resulting in Kris Ajer having multiple partners in defence as well as the pairing of Nir Bitton/Shane Duffy. Although Welsh’s return may mean that the player will resume his partnership with Ajer at the heart of the defence.
Celtic currently sit 18 points behind Rangers with a game in hand on the league leaders. The club dropped 12 points in the month of January, despite a promised review of the management team. The club lost out on Ben Davies, Mark McKenzie and Filip Benkovic in the January window.
