Bournemouth beat Brentford 1-0 earlier this evening in the first leg of the Championship Play-Offs, with The Cherries heading into the second leg with the advantage. Arnaut Danjuma’s second half finish made the difference as a resilient Bournemouth held out. This could potentially delay Celtic’s announcement of Eddie Howe.

The rumour on the street is that Eddie Howe’s announcement as the next Celtic manager is being delayed until Bournemouth’s play-off journey comes to an end. However, the result tonight at the Vitality Stadium means that Celtic may be forced to postpone their plans to announce Howe further.

The Daily Record stated that the announcement of Howe could be restricted by Bournemouth’s season as the manager might either be on the books of the English side or he is awaiting until his coaching staff are able to join him in Glasgow. The 43-year-old is still the overwhelming favourite to take over as Celtic manager.

The second game will be played on the 22nd, with the final taking place on the 29th should Bournemouth make the final.

Celtic need to undergo a massive rebuilding job with the entire footballing operation as well as the boardroom requiring immediate attention from Dominic McKay. McKay is tasked with hiring a top level Director of Football as well as a modern manager.
