Brendan seems to hold Idah in high regard, where does that leave Oh?

Adam Idah has started the last two games under Brendan Rodgers with the young Irishman seeming to be held in high regard by the Celtic manager. He looks a bit raw, but you can tell there is talent there regarding the on loan Norwich man. You could also say that about our other centre forward Oh.

Ask yourself this question, do you think that Brendan would have started the South Korean in two consecutive matches? I have my doubts about that. Like Idah, Oh is a big strong young player who can lead the line well and is a physical presence, but maybe where Idah has a head start on the South Korean is his ability to play anywhere across the forward line. And of course he is a penalty kick specialist, something Celtic have been crying out for.

Oh is a natural front man and is more suited to that roll, so I can kind of see why Brendan seems to favour Idah. Of course Oh is just back from representing his country at the Asian Cup, so maybe he will get his chance sometime soon and he is a Celtic player on a permanent contract, while Adam Idah is merely here for the next four months unless there is a further development at the end of the season. Reports last week indicated that it would cost Celtic around £3m to sign Idah on a permanent contract but we’ll have to wait to see if that materialises.

I like Oh and I think he has plenty of potential, but he needs a run of games just like Idah, who was mostly used as a substitute for Norwich this season before moving to Glasgow.

Whether Oh gets that chance with Idah appearing to be ahead of him in the manager’s thoughts, remains to be seen. With Celtic yesterday playing two strikers yesterday with a 4,4,1,1 formation it increases the opportunities for the three strikers currently at club. We must forget about Kyogo!
