Brilliant CalMac moment included in Barisic welcome video

Borna Barisic has been unveiled by Turkish side Trabzonspor ending six years in Scotland. The Croatian leaves the runners up in the SPFL Premiership to join the side that finished third in Super Lig.

The announcement from Trabzonspor did, remarkably, include a moment where Barisic was bullied by Callum McGregor in what became a fairly iconic moment. Barisic receives the ball in his usual left back area when he is harassed by the Celtic captain. Rather than attempting to take him own, Barisic turned back and played the ball backwards. This resulted in McGregor giving an explicit rebuke of the defender, in typical Glasgow fashion.

Barisic will likely still be in counselling after that game given the torrid time that he endured thanks to Liel Abada. Rangers had won the league by some distance the year before during the COVID season and had beaten Celtic in the early season meeting; however, the sensational 3-0 win from Ange’s side marked a real turning point and Celtic have continued their dominance since, winning three titles in a row.

Just while we’re on that game… here are highlights.
