Time is ticking, we need to act and improve the squad. Failure to do so is an insult to the Celtic supporters and a betrayal of our elite manager Brendan Rodgers…

The new league campaign kicks off a week on Sunday. The transfer window has now been open for 40 days and so far our only additions have been goalkeepers Kasper Schmeichel and Viljami Sinisalo.

Considering we are now minus the presence of the retiring Joe Hart, the outgoing Ben Siegrist, Oh and Sead Hakšabanović we are now very much weaker than we were last campaign.

Add to that list on loan Adam Idah who returned to Norwich with a quick fire return looking increasingly unlikely, and the confusion surrounding the permanent signing of fellow loanee Paulo Bernardo then we are a pale shadow of the side who finished last season as double winners.

A side who don’t forget struggled for a majority of the campaign due to being seriously devoid of the ‘quality’ required by Brendan Rodgers.

We will also most likely lose Matt O’Riley with multiple bids being made for his services. With it only being a matter of time before the club’s financial demands are reached and then he too will be away making our squad all that more weaker.

With the guaranteed income of Champions League money, the season ticket money already banked and a huge fee incoming for Matt O’Riley, then it’s actually quite incredible that we have failed to improve our squad for the challenges of the new season.

Not only is it a blow to Brendan Rodgers who deserves the backing of his bosses, it’s an insult to us supporters who have poured our hard earned money into the club with another new kit being released for sale only yesterday.

It’s time for those in charge to act, or not only will they face the consequences on the field, they will face the wrath of the supporters off it. With every passing day the sorrowful summer being endured by theRangers appears to be a factor that is actually no joke for the Celtic supporters who were told at the start of February how difficult a window it was to do business but they’d get it right in the summer.

Time is ticking…next up is Manchester City in our three match tour of the United States and while they are further being Celtic in their pre-season preparations, it will nevertheless show some kind of indication of where we are at as a team with the new look Champions League format not too far away.

Here’s a reminder of that banner from early February up at Pittodrie just after the winter window closed.

Just an Ordinary Bhoy
