SHANE DUFFY can’t catch a break at the moment. Despite starting well following a loan move from Brighton, the big central defender has been on a poor run of form and it seems that his confidence has been knocked. Irish bet-makers Paddy Power, who are known for their satirical tweets, have picked on the Irish captain in a brutal tweet about his passing ability in the Ireland game v Bulgaria.
If Shane Duffy got down on his hands and knees and tried heading it along the floor to a teammate, it would be an awful lot more accurate than what he's currently trying with his feet.

It looks very much like Shane Duffy or bust in terms of Ireland scoring a goal thus far. #IRLBUL

The 28-year-old will be hoping to return to form at club level, even if playing for a depleted Ireland has given him an escape from the pressures of playing for his boyhood heroes.
Duffy should ignore the negativity instead using it to spur him on. The big defender is 90 minutes away from winning his first honours with Celtic and if performances across the board improve there is the potential of 10IAR. Neil Lennon’s men are nine points behind Rangers but have two games in hand, a win would break the 1974 record of nine set by Jock Stein’s Celtic.
