Bundesliga journalist Christian Falk has suggested that Jesse Marsch is not interested in succeeding Neil Lennon as Celtic manager this summer. The 47-year-old American is widely tipped as a candidate for the job owing to success in the MLS and Austria; however, the Head of Football for German publication BILD has said that from his information, Marsch has been in contact with Celtic, confirming that he is honoured by the interest but he is not available.

Marsch insisted that his work at RB Salzburg is not done as the 47-year-old looks to complete another double success in Austria this season. However, Marsch might have catapulted himself into the favourite amongst the supporters for the role after he issued a ‘come and get me’ plea to Celtic when speaking to BBC.

Celtic should pull out all the stops to entice him to the club as he is the standout candidate, as well as being relatively attainable at this moment in time. Borussia Monchengladbach and RB Leipzig have been linked with moves for Marsch should moves elsewhere transpire. Celtic meanwhile need to decide who they want and act upon it as soon as possible.
