“I think it adds a little bit of something different,” the Celtic captain said. “Hopefully as a spectacle we can get it back to what it was a few years ago when there were bigger crowds in the stadium,” Callum McGregor

Callum McGregor spoke to the media today ahead of the Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park on Saturday afternoon which will be played in front of 60,000 Celtic supporters with no away fans in the stadium due to the actions of theRangers board in pandering to the lunatics in their support and the the resultant dangers to life and limb for Celtic fans stuck in that we corner at Ibrox with glass bottles among items being thrown at them. Celtic said enough is enough last month and told theRangers to restore the traditional allocation as a means of ensuring away fans attend these game.

“I think it just adds a little bit of something different. Of course we have to accept it for the time being, but my thought is that hopefully we can get back to having the bigger allocation that we have had a few years ago, the Celtic captain said.

“Of course the place becomes more hostile, we’ll be looking to use that to our advantage at the weekend. Hopefully we can harness that energy in the stadium and use it as a positive for us.”

“It’s a hard enough fixture to go there with fans, never mind without fans,” Callum McGregor said. “The place becomes more hostile and we’ll be looking to use that to our advantage at the weekend.

“So it does add something extra. The game’s difficult anyway but you need to go in with that siege mentality it’s you in there against everyone else to try to pick up a result. Hopefully we can harness the energy in the stadium and use it as a positive for us.”
