Calmac back to his brilliant best, on that form there really is no-one better…

It’s fair to say that Callum McGregor has been under par so far this season. The skipper would most likely be the first person to admit so. He’s set such high standards these past few years that anything less than perfect is seen as underperforming.

But we needn’t have worried as he was back to his brilliant best at Ibrox yesterday afternoon as he put in a superb performance, one of a true leader. Callum along with Matt O’Riley ran the show in the midfield. No one could touch them. Callum makes the game look so easy and that pass that released Liel Abada early on to create a chance for Kyogo was mesmerising.

Callum is the best midfielder in the country when he’s on form and yesterday proved that. He’s a vital player for us and never let us down. That makes it all the more remarkable that some supporters on social media were calling for him to be dropped for the Derby.

It shows how much they know eh?  It was never going to happen anyway as Callum is a terrific player and leader as he proved yesterday. Callum McGregor is a fantastic footballer and an inspirational Celtic captain, we are so lucky to have a player of his ability.

He’s going to be around for a good few years yet so we should enjoy watching him and just thunk how much silverware he’s likely to lift before he eventually hangs up his boots?
