Celtic 3-0 Hearts – A perfect day in Paradise as Celtic pile on the pressure on title rivals…

Celtic blew Hearts away amid a sensational atmosphere from start to finish at Celtic Park this afternoon as Brendan Rodgers’ side hit top gear and opened a six points advantage over theRangers while enhancing the goal difference advantage from five to eight.

Afterwards Brendan described it as a “very pleasing” performance and the result was the same as the 60,000 capacity crowd saw some high tempo, high quality football that perhaps merited a few more goals for the league leaders.

“There was real energy in the stadium and the supporters were brilliant for us – the players responded to that,” he Rodgers told BBC Scotland.

“What really pleased me today was, in a big game, we had big performances and big contributions from those players. That sets us up well for next week.”

Looking to the Glasgow Derby next Saturday the Celtic manager said: “it’s going to be on fire here next weekend” in what could be a title winning match against theRangers.

On Kyogo Furuhashi’s two goals in the first half he said: “The first one, he’s so alive. He scores with a great header. Second is an incredible finish, what a pass by Matt O’Riley. That’s Kyogo’s strength, playing on the last line.”

Matt O’Riley converted a late penalty after a blatant handball missed by Kevin Clancy as the dear old Paradise sparkled with electrifying excitement of this sensational football.

Brendan had asked the supporters to do our bit and he can have no complaints about the supporters today.  At the end the chant was “bring on theRangers”. It’s going to be spectacular!
