SKY SPORTS: Can you sum up that match and performance for us?
Ange Postecoglou: “Brilliant on both counts. We knew it would be a good challenge for us today as they are a good side and they have proven that. We have been really good since the season started and we have been getting stronger every week. I thought it was a really dominant performance.”
SKY SPORTS: What pleased you most?
Ange Postecoglou: “Everything. It’s a big occasion and we kind of know what’s at stake and I guess people were suggesting that we had an easy run of games so far but I don’t see that way. If this was going to be our first test and how we handled it then we did that really well and our defensive work and our press were just outstanding today. We really got on top of them.”
SKY SPORTS: Can you sum up Liel Abada’s performance today and recently?
Ange Postecoglou: “He has been good since the day he came, mate. He walked in as a 19-year-old to one of the biggest clubs in the world and he literally hit the ground running and has not stopped running since. It was another real mature performance from him and again he is one of those boys who want to be better in everything he does and he wants to learn from both the good and the bad. Credit to him as he has produced on the big stage.”

SKY SPORTS: Is that something that is missed taking into account his age and his maturity married to his performances?
Ange Postecoglou: “In terms of his finishing maybe yes. That is the hardest part of the game and he scores an extraordinary number of goals. It takes a bit of a cool head to do that and he must have scored close to his debut in a European game for us. That goes to show that mentally he is an outstanding player and mentally he is a really strong kid.

SKY SPORTS: In terms of the blow you took with Kyogo going off it didn’t seem to impact you on what happened thereafter – how is he?
Ange Postecoglou: “We will assess both Kyogo and Carl as both were disappointed to come off. I haven’t spoken to the medical teams yet. It was a blow as Kyogo has been in outstanding form and again that is why we did the business that we did. I threw Giako (Giorgos Giakoumakis) and I knew it would still give them a problem. Credit to the team as they didn’t miss a beat.”
