Celtic and West Ham will compete in a friendly at Celtic Park in the summer. The Hammers are on course to play European football next season and look set to play in a pre-season match on July 24th. This is the week before Celtic are due to kick-off the new Premiership.
According to The Record, the Premier League side will travel north as part of both sides preparations for the new season. It is a Celtic Park reunion for David Moyes, the West Ham boss, who made 24 league appearances for Celtic with a Championship medal to show for his time in Glasgow.
It remains unclear who the Celtic manager will be as the club continue to stall on the decision to appoint a new boss and coaching staff. Eddie Howe is still the favourite but the club said that they were still working away on an appointment.
The game would be sandwiched between two Champions League qualifiers for Celtic. The Hammers, who are currently chasing the Champions League themselves, will likely provide a stern test ahead of the beginning of the season.
