Celtic announce arrival of Luis Palma on five-year deal

Celtic have confirmed the signing of Luis Palma from Aris Thessaloniki. The Honduran signs on five-year deal and is the first arrival of this week.

Palma, 23, is a left-winger and was tracked by The Scottish Champions as they targeted quality amidst the exit of Jota to Al Ittihad.

The Honduran winger has impressed during his time in Greece, scoring 17 goals and assisting 11 times, attracting interest from England, Belgium and Scotland. Palma rejected Rangers and is now going to be playing in the Hoops after agreeing personal terms.

The player will be hoping to obtain international clearance in order to appear in the Glasgow Derby against Rangers at the weekend. Celtic were poor in the League Cup defeat to Kilmarnock and the subsequent draw against St Johnstone in the league.

Celtic are planning for a busy end to the week with Nat Phillips expected to arrive on loan from Liverpool and Benfica’s Paulo Bernardo. Brendan Rodgers side will likely look for a left-back and striker in the final days of the window.
