Celtic Away Days organise gigs for the Celtic support on their European travels throughout each season. The group operates within Left Wing Badges Facebook page and has recently ran a Rebels For Foodbanks gig, which raised a lot of money for causes in Scotland and the North of Ireland.
This week the group turned their attention friends in Italy, who have been struggling for food and PPE supplies. Many Celtic fans will be familiar with these Italian anti-fascist groups in Milan and Rome, who have provided a venue for the Hoops faithful to hold gigs in the recent past.
It was time for the Celtic faithful to repay these people by helping them to assist their local communities in this difficult time, whilst another centre in Naples also received a share of the funds.
The fundraising effort took place in the form of a live Facebook gig with bands from the Irish Rebel scene performing. There was an auction with great prizes and an opportunity to sponsor a song too.
Incredibly, the Celtic support and perhaps a wider audience, have managed to hit the £3500 target set, within four days!
Right Fenians that’s our target of £3500 reached in 4 Days 🍀👏🍀unbelievable response when everyone is suffering but we still show solidarity with others ✊none of this would have been possible without The Bands and you and @Hoidy respect @CelticFCSLO @CelticFC @polishturnstile pic.twitter.com/VO9L9wh0xm
