Celtic Board must fully back Brendan as they already know he’ll deliver

We have the potential to go far under Brendan. Although I doubt our board have the hunger, but just give him the backing he deserves and we’ll all reap the rewards…

We really do have the potential to go far under the leadership of Brendan Rodgers. That is pretty evident giving his record at the club first time around, and his success in his first season back at the club that delivered a League and Scottish Cup double.

Just look at the start we’ve had to this season. Not just the results, but the manner of the performances. We’ve looked more efficient, slick and as sharp as we’ve looked in a long time. Whisper it but this Brendan-ball football is even more pleasing on the eye for Celtic supporters than Ange’s team at its best.

That’s all down to Brendan. Last season we struggled in more than a few occasions and looked very sluggish, yet we still got the job done when it mattered. This term it looks as if the players have bought into Brendan’s philosophy and thats been evident on the park, not just with results, but in the manner of our football.

It’s wonderful to watch and we are back to enjoying our football once again. It could however get even better, if and it’s a very big IF, if Brendan is given the chance to do so. The current Celtic team is a joy to watch and that was shown at the weekend when Celtic Park was packed and just about on full capacity of a league cup match that was live on TV and was not on the season ticket.

By backing I mean the financial support he requires to do so. Brendan has the hunger for the challenge, but do the board? The jury is out and given their history when it comes to these matters, no-one is shouting from the roof about how exciting the last week or so is going to be. Hope grow then we’re left disappointed and even frustrated as was the case in January.

But the Celtic Board has no excuses. Turnover is at an all time high, and we have the guaranteed bounty of champions league cash. The London Stock Exchange has been updated that Celtic PLC expect earning from the end of last season to be significantly higher than first thought. And the club has over £70m in the bank while we will be most likely be receiving a very big fee for the imminent departure of Matt O’Riley. That will be worth another £25m.

So for goodness sake just give our elite manager the backing he deserves and Celtic will all reap the rewards, you can be sure of that.

We all know deep down celtic will not buy anyone and we will loose matt and again be a joke in the cl and get beat all the time and if no one else comes in at the agm meeting fans should all kick up shit about why again only bought a keeper as can’t Cound bernardo or idah or kasper as will be the same team as last year

    • No we dont and it is not easy getting the quality we all crave – the SPFL is awful complete dross. ALL top players told we can be their stepping stone to bigger better things.. Those bigger better things are the wages which are upto 20 times more than what we pay our highest earners.

Rodgers stated this not so long ago players outgrow Celtic on how much waged they can receive. English Championship teams can easily offer players £40k per week which Celtic cannot. Thus transfer fees not the issue its the wages that would easily bankrupt us.
