Celtic have confirmed the signing of 19-year-old Liel Abada. The right-winger scored 13 goals and notched 4 assists last season for Maccabi Petah Tikva, which resulted in a number of teams pursuing the highly-rated youngster. However, Celtic have confirmed the deal as the player agrees a five-year contract at Paradise.

Abada is in Glasgow and will meet his new teammates at Lennoxtown on Friday as he hopes that he can impress the manager enough to be included for The Champions League game against FC Midtjylland on Tuesday.

The player will add much-needed depth to the winger positions at the club. Ange Postecoglou has James Forrest, Karamoko Dembele and Mikey Johnston as options but it has been clear for a while that there needs to significant investment into the attacking options ahead of the new season.

Celtic are still progressing with deals for Carl Starfelt and Brandon Soppy in terms of defensive options as the manager looks to put his stamp on the team.

Welcome to Celtic, Liel!
