Celtic have continued their forward planning with the shrewd appointment of Kevin Hamill. The former Southampton talent spotter has over ten years experience working in the Premier League and joins Joe Dudgeon, who joined recently from the City Group.

As per Football Scotland, Hammil joins as Celtic continue their planning ahead of the summer transfer window. Hammil arrives with experience of the Scottish game, often scouting for the Saints as they signed Victor Wanyama, Virgil Van Dijk and Fraser Forster from the Scottish Champions.

Ange has been working with Mark Lawwell to strengthen the club’s recruitment arm with a view to modernising the club’s recruitment model under the Australian manager. It is expected that the club will continue to make strides to improve the inner-workings of the club.

The Celtic manager has said that he plans two transfer windows in advance, this is why the recruitment model championed by him, needs to work swiftly and efficiently. The failures in the 2019-21 transfer windows saw Celtic miss the maximum value for talents such as Odsonne Edouard, Olivier Ntcham, Kristoffer Ajer and Ryan Christie. The club managed to recoup decent fees for the players but there was a feeling that players were ‘wantaways’. Ange has made it clear that this won’t be tolerated, with Giorgos Giakoumakis and Josip Juranovic acting as recent examples.
