Celtic will be without Maik Nawrocki for Wednesday’s game against Dundee. The 23-year-old started on Sunday in the 3-1 win over Motherwell before Brendan Rodgers replaced the summer signing with Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Now, according to Daily Record’s Scott Burns, the defender was unable to train on Monday, requiring intensive treatment after the win at Fir Park. The report states that the player will miss the midweek game against Tony Docherty’s visitors from the City of Discovery as the Scottish Champions look to record three points on an evening in which theRangers travel to Rugby Park.

The Celtic manager will need to decide whether to bring Carter-Vickers in from the start to partner Liam Scales in the central pairing with Stephen Welsh and Gustaf Lagerbielke providing cover. Nawrocki has been unlucky with injuries since arriving for £4m from Legia Warsaw in the summer. The Polish central defender could be an ideal long-term partner for Carter-Vickers at the back for Celtic.

Celtic have struggled with injuries this season, with almost everyone suffering a spell on the sidelines meaning that Rodgers’ team have been unable to find consistency.
