CELTIC have announced that Olivier Ntcham has signed a new four year deal with the Scottish Champions. This commits the French midfielder to Celtic until the summer of 2022.
The player, who has been out injured in recent weeks, was at Celtic Park today to put pen to paper and in doing so commit himself to the exciting group of ‘Young Lions’that Brendan Rodgers is shaping into an excellent side.
“I’m delighted to extend my contract,” NTcham told Celtic TV.
“It’s good news and I hope we’re going to win more trophies. It’s a great side and I’m glad to be part of the project.
“Having a strong bond with the players is very important for the team, and for the club,” the 22 year old continued.
“I feel good here and I hope we’re going to win more trophies and that we can be even more successful this year than last year.
“I want to improve on everything in respect of the game. Scoring more goals is, of course, part of the game and is important for me as well.”
Ntcham was the subject of an enquiry from Porto in the summer but Celtic knocked back their bid and now the supporters will be delighted that he has extended his contract and will be a Celtic player for the foreseeable future.
The midfielder started the Betfred Cup semi-final against Hearts at Murrayfield but was substituted at the interval due to feeling a tightness in his hamstring. He is nearing match fitness again and could feature on Sunday when the Bhoys head through to West Lothian to play Livingston on their notorious artificial pitch.
