Taylor, who played 90 mins at left back, was excellent but appears to have picked up a slight knock. Similarly with Forrest, who replaced Nicolas Kühn in the second half. Given the Champions League kicks off later this month, the pair will be taking no chances.

  1. The ever increasing demands of international football is more of a hindrance for players these days?
Sports science has proved this year’s ago, and for the majority of supporters these days, club seems to take preference over country?
For this international break, I would have far bigger interests in our players remaining injury free, moreso than the performances they produce?
In particular I would be referring to Liam scales especially?
The thought of an Irish side beating England use to be a massive occasion to be looking forward to?
Now I personally couldn’t care less, especially as I would be more upset if Liam picked up an injury, than Ireland been on the wrong end of a pumping?
Same way I would be happier with Liam getting through the international break injury free, than Ireland actually beating England?
So bit of a pointless exercise really of no real benefit for our players is my way of looking at these international matches?
As for our Scottish players involved, it is also a pointless waste of time for themselves, when not really involved within the starting line-up, and only making up numbers as such?
Fine for players not getting much game time at present, but a week of recovery is going to be far more beneficial for players entering into a phase of big CL matches, which would take preference over internationals that wouldn’t carry the same importance to those involved within bigger clubs and far more attractive matches to be looking forward to imo?
