Celtic are facing competition to sign Adam Idah from Norwich City. The 23-year-old is currently away with The Canaries in Austria, despite missing his flight. The Scottish Champions have had a £4m bid rejected for the player but have been expected to revisit with a bid to clinch a deal
Now, Team Talk are reporting that Fiorentina and Hellas Verona are interested in bringing the striker to Serie A this summer. Verona had a bid rebuffed in January as the player opted to move to Celtic.
The difficulty that Celtic have is that the Championship side clearly have a valuation for the player and if that is met then they may be willing to come to an agreement. On the other hand, Idah clearly wants a return to Paradise and the club should complete the deal as soon as possible.
Brendan made it clear that the striker was one of his main transfer targets this summer. Idah made 19 appearances in his second half of the season loan, scoring 9 goals and assisting 2 times. The contribution of the Irishman was brilliant, culminating with his Scottish Cup Final winner against theRangers.
Celtic are still in discussions with the Carrow Rd side but it appears that there is yet to be a follow up bid for the player. Norwich may be reluctant to let the player go until the future of Josh Sargent is determined with the USA Internationalist yet to return to training.
Celtic’s business has been somewhat stunted thus far with only Kasper Schmeichel and Sinisalo arriving to strengthen the goalkeeping department. Paulo Bernardo is expected to arrive from Benfica on a permanent basis but the club are keen to get a number of players in the building to strengthen ahead of the new season.
Peter Liewell leaves we get business done early. He returns we piss aboot forever again.
