CELTIC fans have been asked to put their hand in their pocket for Sky Sports, season tickets, BT Sport and recently Premier Sport. However, this season is different, the club have virtual season tickets amidst the Coronavirus pandemic and Sky have sole broadcasting rights.
St Mirren have announced the details for the PPV as supporters again are asked to put their hand in their pocket to watch the game. The caveat with this game, much like Ross County which would have both boasted a full away attendance, is that the game was meant to be on Sky Sports. Bolingoli’s decision to go to Spain meant that the game was postponed – meaning supporters that had paid their Sky subscription based upon their unrivalled and sole coverage of the Scottish game will be forced to put their hands into their pockets once again.
Whilst the early rounds of Carabao Cup will be covered, a game that Sky had already agreed to cover has instead been scrapped with fans given a £12.50 alternative from the Paisley side. Supporters paid their subscriptions thinking that games on the road to 10IAR would be shown.
No doubt Sky will decide to hold on until giving supporters their share of an allocated fixtures as they happily exploit the cash cow of Scottish football supporters yet pay them little regards in terms of quality of output.
