Former Rangers player, who was regarded the worst footballer in the Azerbaijani league, Andy Halliday was tasked with naming an XI comprised of Celtic and Rangers players combined.
A well known supporter of the Ibrox club, Halliday’s trophy haul features a large collection of dust. He was, however, well liked in Ibrox circles because of his public staunchness and childish tantrums in battling for the cause. Ultimately, his fighting spirit lead to the Scottish top flight’s newest club finishing in third place and climbing up to the runners up position. Halliday’s time in Scottish football also coincided with Celtic winning 9-in-a-row and a treble-treble.
With that in mind, one wonders how it is possible to conclude that only three Celtic players are worthy of making the starting XI. However, speaking to GoRadio, that’s exactly what Halliday came up with.
His team is listed below:

If that side is anything to go by then Celtic are in real trouble this season!
Here’s some of the reaction from the Celtic faithful:
Only player that gets into our 11 is Barasic

We really don’t celebrate our domestic success renough considering we are up against such a good rangers team

Team selection aside, we love Halliday really. Sure didn’t we sing for him and give him a nice cheer of support at Paradise?
Tonight’s opponents – Riga FC of Latvia – were potential Qualifying Round 1 opponents in the Champions League, before we drew KR Reykjavik.
Here’s an article I wrote for @CelticStarMag last month providing a bit of background on them.
