The Europa League draw will bring three top teams to Celtic Park over the next few months – Ferencvaros, Real Betis and Bayer Leverkusen. However, for many Celtic supporters, they will see the opportunity to travel to Budapest, Seville and Leverkusen following Celtic.

Many will have already booked up; however, it appears that there will be away fans in attendance at the games after UEFA indicated that away fans would be permitted. Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol has said that the fans will be allowed subject to national government restrictions, meaning Double Vaxed fans could be able to travel more freely.

The Celtic support are well revered for their travels and loud support and three cities will welcome the fans back into their cities in the course of the campaign. Seville holds a special place in the hearts of the Celtic support after 2003 but the Hungarian capital, as well as a trip to Germany, will certainly appear to a number of fans that haven’t been away to follow Celtic in nearly 18 months.

Celtic still haven’t had away fans at games so far this season but there is hope that the upcoming fixture against Livingston next weekend could be the first. This would bookend the pandemic as the last away fixture was at the Tony Macaroni Stadium back in March 2020.
