The Celtic B side held their nerve to beat their Rangers counterparts in the Glasgow Cup final at Ibrox last night. Despite blowing a three goal lead the young hoops lifted the cup in a dramatic penalty shoot out, the only trophy that will be getting hoisted at Ibrox this season.

This was of course following on from the under 18 triumph in the Scottish youth cup a couple of weeks ago. Our senior side of course beat the Ibrox side in the league cup final, knocked them out of the Scottish cup and of course strolled to the league title.

From top to bottom we are streets ahead of our rivals, from senior side to youth team, to the women’s team. Off the park we are also on another planet. We are a well run professional football club while they are just a basket case. To be a Celtic supporter at the moment is magnificent, well it always is, but you just feel at present we are on the cusp of something special. To borrow a phrase from a great man “there’s a buzz about the place”

Of course theRangers will regroup in the summer with promises of moonbeams and the like, expect the media to be in positive overdrive of all things Rangers. Stand by for nothing but positive news and talk of ‘war chests’ and ‘56.’ If they were as good at football as they are at spin they would be world beaters.

We will face a new challenge of some sorts, football as we know can change in the blink of an eye. So we can’t rest on our laurels, but with Ange in charge of the playing side and competent business minds running the club we will continue to move forward. We are winners on and off the park, long may it continue.
